Roy Holland
After graduating from Birmingham University with a Commerce degree, Roy Holland, having won a no-strings University scholarship from Ford Motor Company, was however, under a strong, moral obligation, and so entered Ford’s industrial world in the UK and Germany. A major move followed to City business banking, but after an extended stay working behind the then Iron Curtain, he decided that large corporate life was not for him.
And so entered into the world of serial, entrepreneurial business, in which environment he has spent the whole of his career.
He has worked in the following commercial sectors – Specialist Travel, Leisure and Hospitality including Camping and Caravanning in France and other EU countries; Overseas and UK Resort Project Development and Management; Tourist oriented Retail Store/Coffee House in major UK City; Tennis and Health Industries, based on specialist, innovative, software products.
He has created from scratch and worked in his own businesses, employing teams of over 20 people and also in senior Board positions for others. Offering where appropriate, general Consultancy guidance, from accumulated “in the trenches” experience and expertise.
Fund raising has been a regular requirement, from relatively humble amounts – seed capital + SEIS investment of £250,000, up to much larger capital sums.
One of the highlights of his career was the creation and financing of a large $300 million mixed-use beach-side resort in the Caribbean, with a $55 million first tranche raise.
A solid understanding was acquired of the many facets of property development, and key negotiations with global “players”, during an intense four-year period. Additionally, a variety of skill sets was absorbed from working closely with Accountants, Lawyers, Bankers and other specialist professionals, learning to speak their “languages”.
Latterly, Owl Business Consultancy has been presented with a very varied portfolio of early stage companies including Scottish & Italian Castle developments; Females Only App; Cycling product; Charity giving software; Robotics; Energy safety software; Beauty Products; Documentation software; Rum Distillery; Cancer software product; Dog breeding; Childrens immersive entertainment; Childrens swimming safety product; and Health and Wellness spas.

In addition, there is access to a very much larger Fund that specialises in supporting a range of Social Impact and Environmental projects, both minor and major, that are seeking funds from £250,000 and upwards of £40 million.
If it’s a complete review of an existing business, or a start-up, or an early-stage project just putting down roots, we can offer a preliminary, brief appraisal, at no cost to you. We will identify and advise you in the areas in which we believe improvements, or enhancements could be made to strengthen your business or project and your third-party presentations.
