New Capital
There are certain presentation components of your project, or business, that must be in place, in order to secure any form of funding, be it loan, grants, angel or venture capital.
Key presentation items include a one page summary, or, as it is often known, a “Teaser”, plus a Pitch Deck of between 12 and 15 slides, and in some cases adding a two to three minutes video will prove to be of great benefit.
Careful study of the market into which you are intending to sell, or are already selling your service or product is essential, with a well thought out marketing and sales programme.
Where appropriate, this should include a PR component, which, in the right hands, can prove to be very effective, producing many leads. Roy has direct experience of the power of PR, with one of his companies having enjoyed a 10 – minute slot on national television. The response was overwhelming.
Suppliers of finance, whether they be Lenders, Angel investors or Venture Capitalists, or even sources of Grants, will want to see that you know and understand your market well. And that you have established proof that there is room in that marketplace for your product or service.
The creation of an MVP – Minimum Viable Product, is also essential or, if that stage has been passed, a demonstration of revenue generation, i.e. sales already having been made, known as traction, will be viewed as a major positive in your favour.
In addition you will have to have a set of financials to present, meaning detailed projections for a minimum of three years, usually five years, including the crucial and central cash flow.
